Happy Thanksgiving, East Gwillimbury!
As we gather this weekend, I want to wish everyone a warm and safe Thanksgiving.
Having lived across York Region for over a decade—from Thornhill and Richmond Hill to Aurora and Newmarket—my wife, Maria, and I proudly chose East Gwillimbury as the perfect place to put down roots and raise our four children in 2022. For us, this holiday is a cherished time to step back and reflect on how fortunate we are. The true heart of East Gwillimbury has always been its families and the strong, supportive neighbourhoods we share, surrounded by the beautiful gifts of creation we are so blessed to enjoy.
I am deeply grateful for the conversations I've had with so many of you at your doors and at our recent Candidates Meet & Greet. I am thankful for the opportunity to work toward shaping a brighter future for our families and everyone who calls East Gwillimbury home.
While we celebrate with our loved ones, I want to extend a special thank you to our firefighters, paramedics, and essential workers who are spending this holiday away from their own families to ensure our community stays safe.
Whether your weekend is filled with a bustling house full of relatives or a quiet meal with your closest loved ones, I hope it is filled with joy, gratitude, and great food.
From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!
Shahab Aryan, P.Eng.
